Review of Durarara!!

So im a big fan of bacanno so i had similar expectations from this one and it kinda met them but not really. For me the show breaks down in 2 halves and while i did enjoy the first hafl the 2nd one really just fails as a story. The good: The characters are fun, music is amazing and visually its unique and exciting to watch with good fight animation. The first halves story is also told in a unique manner where you genuinely wanna find out wtf is going on and having all the pieces of the puzzle join is satisfying. The Bad: here comes themain issues, first of all 3 of the major characters are set in high school and if there was one anime that should not have been set in high school then its this one. It immediatly takes you out of the atmosphere cause you know that even from anime standards these high school kids are too far up their own asses. Anyway my other issue is that a major char, "Anri" is horribly written.

She follows the age old trope of emotionless with a hidden past and its generic and boring as hell. She refuses to communicate and pretty much acts as a shitty plot device.

the 2nd half in general is not that fun or exciting, pretty much all the characters you love are put in the sidelines and the story shifts focus to the high school trio. For me it felt like a waste of an opportunity.

If i could rate them seperately then the 1st half would be a 8/10 and 2nd half would be a 6/10.
