This will be a very personal review. Candy Candy is one of those animes that have a lasting impact. I got to watch it when I was a child living in Dominican Republic, many of us would then talk about Candy Candy and even get together to watch it. The music is memorable and the characters were so engaging. It wasn't magical, it was simple drama with things that one might typically engage in at some schools and life in general. The bullies, moving forward through all kinds of difficulties and set backs, dealing with difficult people, and all the while staying positive. Therewere so many great messages in this anime. It was a soap opera for young kids and it was definitely sometimes painful and sometimes fun to watch.
