Review of High School DxD

I heard them say Highschool DxD is a plain anime with poor story. To some extent it's true. It has pretty typical harem stuff. But the anime isn't bad at all. The story might not be thrilling or complicated, but it's really deep and interesting. The story tries to focus on a lot of things and along the way, we're served with a lot of different stuff from dragons to angels to devils to sacred powers to sword fighters to God wars. Too many panty shots. Girls' clothes MUST tear apart when in fight (no, not true for boys at all). Music is excellent. It's makes fora great comedy. Not too much drama in it. Not too many dialogues.

Characters are pretty okay I would say and when they're not spilling too much friendship stuff and how-I'm-stronger-than-you stuff, it's actually interesting to watch the fight scenes. In fact, the level of in-battle talk you witness in a typical shonen is only seen with ONE single (villain) character in this anime.

I'm sure when you watch this, there's a good chance you would want to stick to it and watch other seasons.
