Review of Naruto the Movie 2: Legend of the Stone of Gelel
Honestly this movie is very forgettable. It doesn't bring anything new to the table that we haven't already seen from the series before, and it follows the typical anime movie formula of go to a new place with new characters all of which will never be seen or heard from again. Part of that formula is that there will be some rare never before heard of power source macguffin that let's the bad guy do his evil plan, but will ultimately be taken by the hero at the end so he can use it to fuel a one-time powered-up version of his normal finishing move. Forthis movie the macguffin is the Stone of Gelel, I don't remember if it had a different name in the original, I just remember the dub. The powered-up finishing move was the superdeeduper rainbow Rasengan or something, I don't really remember. If you're going for a 100% completion run of the Naruto franchise or if it just happens to be on Cartoon Network like it was for me when I watched in back in high school, then go ahead and watch it I guess. If not, or if you watched the first movie and thought, "this isn't for me," you can probably skip this one. 6/10
