You won't know the difference between right or wrong, who's correct, who's justified, or what justice even means, after the first season alone the entire concept of right and wrong is blown out the window and you no longer know who to side with, the protagonist or the antagonist. It's like being a neutral civilian in the story, as you were in reality, when starting the series. Without any knowledge it seems normal but when you get into it a few episodes you start to lose who the protagonist is, as everything wrong could ever happen happens, even stuff a psychic cannot predict. These qualities outliethis anime from the rest, simple concepts you don't see anywhere, it's like this anime shows us what's been right in front of our eyes and dangles them in front of us tauntingly. How sad this anime makes everything else seem.

The series is unlike other anime's, where as anime refers mainly to one single character the whole time, and on one hero, this anime doesn't have a hero, there's no telling who will win as whenever you make a prediction it just nullifies itself, and the sooner you grasp onto that concept the better, because any expectations you set will be gone.

It's a story about war, and about the freedom of a country once free and thriving, but also about a story of peace, about a country who grew to overpower it's inferiors. It's a story about everything in the story, there's no real perspective.

Character development is totally on point and serves more purpose than that of just developing on the characters, but even making the characters the plot itself. You watch your favourite characters become your own worst nightmares shortly overtime, sometimes in acts of heinous terrorism, or even from a trip to insanity making even the viewer feel the agony. This further feeds to question as to who is really the bad guy in the film, you even find yourself questioning why you watched the show in the first place, only to continue watching in anticipation.
