Review of Black Lagoon

This anime got me hooked into watching anime again. Story 10: I’ve seen many people compare black lagoon to hell sing and cowboy bepbop. I can’t speak on hell sing but I think it is leaps and bounds more interesting and fun than cowboy bepbop. Both shows are great but I found black lagoon easier to follow. I might be a little too dumb for the cowboy bepbop plot but we all can’t be geniuses. The action was fun and I enjoyed the short 2-3 episode arcs. I think this is what made it easier to follow when compared to cowboy bepbop Music: 9. Theending has to be one of my all time favorites. The ost was good but nothing to write home about and the intro is fun

Animation: 8. I think it has some of the better animation of its time but obviously it doesn’t really compete with that of today

Characters: 10 OMG THE WOMEN! I have never seen an anime with such well written women. Not only are they powerful, but they actually are developed. Don’t get me wrong the men are well written too but it is so refreshing to see female characters that actually add to the plot and don’t just serve as fan service. Revy is one of the best female characters I have ever seen.

Comedy: 10 I watched it in dub. (Dont shoot me), but it is one of the best dubs I have ever seen. I would compre it to cowboy bepbop and death note. The voice actors are so so good. They fit the characters well and the jokes land so well in English. Omg this show was one of the funniest I have seen. The jokes were actually so so good. The one liners in here are legendary. I think part of what makes it good is the jokes aren’t at the expense of women (like how some shows like fire force burn their clothes and crap like that).
