Review of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End
Honestly, I probably should've made a review of this anime earlier, then again I delayed finishing it for a long while. Now that I have completed it, I'm instantly wanting more. This anime's beautiful. The story of Frieren has so many aspects, with the funny moments to the beautifully animated fights to the bittersweet moments, it's all amazingly done. I really enjoy how they portray heroism in this anime, it's not about being picked by some destiny or having long goodbyes while crying, it's about helping people and getting to see them again. Himmel is genuinely one of the best written heroes I've seen from this typeof genre and he's what a lot of people should strive to be.
I also really enjoy their system of magic, it's logical but also imaginative, those with a strong imagination are naturally just stronger mages because they don't limit themselves to a certain system. I also really like the variety of staffs that the mages use, you have the normal magical ones but also ones that can act as melee weapons or whips as well, that's pretty unique.
Overall, I think this anime is ABSOLUTELY deserving of it's high praise and ranking, it's a good step back from all the bitterness of the world and a good view on spending the time that you have to do what you love. I relate to Himmel's ideology of life, being remembered by people is definitely one of my greatest forms of happiness in life.
Remember, "the greatest joy in magic lies in searching for it." Whatever challenges you're facing right now, whatever struggles or hardships you've had in the past, you can eventually overcome and find the magic you search for.
