Review of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is about a chick named Frieren. To zoom out for a sec, it's a show about how insignificant moments become significant. And after that, it's about learning to spot that significance as it's happening, and how to cherish it before it's gone. All the time in the world still isn't very much if you squander it. To zoom back in, Frieren also isn't about Frieren very much. Obviously, it is a lottle* bit, but part of how they convince you to care about Frieren is by giving her her first party. You're going to love Himmel, Heiter, and Eisen. I knowyou're going to, because Frieren does. And then you're going to love her second party differently.
The best time to plant a tree was 1000 years ago, and the second-best time is today. Frieren is picking up seeds from her loved ones' trees, and finding places to plant them.
Also, as someone who's not very expressive, Frieren's chronically neutral expression was wonderful to learn to read.
