Review of Summoned to Another World for a Second Time

German text below -------------------------- Summoned to Another World for a Second Time is a fairly generic fantasy isekai that unfortunately fails to make much of its initial premise. The idea actually sounds promising: Setsu Suzaki is summoned to a fantasy world for a second time after disappearing without a trace five years ago in the final battle of the war between demons and humans. This time, however, it's not just him who is summoned, but his entire class. This remains largely irrelevant, however, as Setsu immediately sets off on his own, while his classmates remain in the castle to be trained as future heroes. Gradually, Setsu gathers his oldcomrades again and finds new allies. But none of this is really exciting, and the already thin story quickly feels worn out. There is a lack of character development, conflict, or surprising twists.

The finale is ultimately dealt with in two episodes, but it feels as rushed as it is uninspired. In the end, everything remains very generic and unconvincing – an isekai that fails to make use of its own idea and leaves little impression.

Summoned to Another World for a Second Time ist ein ziemlich generischer Fantasy‑Isekai, der leider aus seiner anfänglichen Prämisse kaum etwas machen kann. Die Idee klingt eigentlich vielversprechend: Setsu Suzaki wird ein zweites Mal in eine Fantasywelt beschworen, nachdem er vor fünf Jahren im finalen Kampf des Krieges zwischen Dämonen und Menschen spurlos verschwunden ist.

Dieses Mal wird jedoch nicht nur er beschworen, sondern gleich seine ganze Klasse. Das bleibt allerdings weitgehend irrelevant, denn Setsu macht sich sofort allein auf den Weg, während seine Klassenkameraden im Schloss bleiben und dort als zukünftige Helden trainiert werden.

Nach und nach sammelt Setsu seine alten Kameraden wieder ein und findet neue Verbündete. Doch nichts davon ist wirklich spannend, und die ohnehin dünne Geschichte wirkt schnell ausgelutscht. Charakterentwicklung, Konflikte oder überraschende Wendungen bleiben weitgehend aus.

Das Finale wird schließlich in zwei Folgen abgehandelt, wirkt aber ebenso hastig wie uninspiriert. Am Ende bleibt alles leider sehr generisch und wenig überzeugend – ein Isekai, der seine eigene Idee nicht nutzt und kaum Eindruck hinterlässt.
