Review of My Love Story!!

The title of this series is as honest a reflection of what it is as one could hope for. It's a funny, feel-good love story as experienced by an adolescent whose uniqueness made him wonder whether he would ever have one. No matter what stage of life you're in, it'll probably make you smile, laugh, introspect, and, honestly, just empathize with the characters. For me, its strength derived from lovable, relatable characters who are distinct enough to feel real; wanting to know what they would do and what would happen to them drove my watching experience. From there, its flashes of brilliance come from exploringthe themes of love, individuality, and companionship through the lenses of different characters, which is what gives the show its nuance and richness. I found myself wanting a little more depth, complexity, and realism overall, but I admit that where the show chooses to draw its lines on those points helps create its charming and unique atmosphere. Overall, I truly enjoyed Ore Monogatari!!, a simple, funny, and touching love story.
