Review of Strike the Blood

Cock-Block the anime. That is what this is. If you came to see an overpowered vampire lord beat the hell out those who deny him the ability to have a harem you will be sorely disappointed. But at the same time let me say that this anime suffers from the all too common "It's bad because it wasn't what I was expecting it to be". What I just said might sound conflicting and even as I wrote it and am writing this it still seems to be. Let me explain..... One look at the tags this anime has to offer and you can sum up theentirety of this show. A vampire who goes through the show unintentionally building a harem for no reason other than the fact that he is a vampire and looks like every other MC. Oh, and by the way, he is also nice. That's all these anime is, there is nothing original about it, the only decent thing it accomplishes is its world-building but with all the possibilities they give themselves thanks to the world they have created, they completely and utterly squander it. Horribly. Everything about this anime is so basic that you could use it as a template to become a star in the world of neckbeards.

Due to the possibilities that this anime gives themselves, they could do so much with it but instead, they do nothing. Or at least nothing noteworthy. The characters are basic, the plot is basic, the art is basic, it's just basic. That is if you're looking for a decent anime involving a powerful harem leading vampire king endlessly overpowering all those who would oppose him and building up his kingdom and be recognized just like all the other... well you get it. But no, that's not what this anime is nor is it what it tries to do. This anime is and should be used, as possible boner build up materiel before you switch to something more powerful.

Now let me further explain why I called this the cock-block anime. "No Senpai this is our fight" Ow0 That is what you're going to get every time something is about to happen. I am not trying to spoil anything all I am saying is do not expect anything meaningful or interesting to happen with the main character. Every time something could happen involving the main character and another character, our side support comes in and cucks him yelling the all too familiar line of "No Senpai this is our fight". "Please for the love of God stop" is a line I found myself saying over and over as I struggled to finish this anime as I don't like dropping.

I would recommend not watching this, it's just not really worth the time in my opinion. If you have nothing else to do or for some reason feel like you have to watch it, then all I can really say is just don't expect much out of it. Even in the world of ecchi harem, it's pretty bad and the ecchi is rather mild if that's what you're looking for.
