Review of Castle in the Sky

The movie should have been condensed to one hour if not even less (45 minutes.) It's interesting to see the similar characters in this one and Spirited Away. Only here, the characters aren't fleshed out. They all feel quite one dimensional. The setting also felt one-dimensional. It addition, it was cliche as well. Perhaps the worst part about it was how predictable it was. The robot was clunky as ever and consequently aged very poorly. Also why does a peaceful nature place have a violent robot? It kind of feels like Avatar ripped off of this though and if so that is quite the compliment.
