Spoiler warning
This review may discuss plot details.
This is gonna be a short review since it is tied to the original Dirty Pair series for some odd reason while Dirty Pair OVA takes over its own style. Instead, this section is called "With Love from the Lovely Angels," that came out in 1987. If anything, my opinion on the voice acting, the characters, and action, the comedy, and the animation are gonna be the same as I have shared with the series as a whole. Instead, I am gonna talk about both the two bonus episodes that are part of the season. Just a heads up, this isgonna have a little bit of spoilers. With that said, you have been warned.
The first episode is called "Eek! The Boy in the Manor is a Terminator." Which kinda spoils what we see later in the episode. Yuri is on a terrible date while Kei is fixing a few things. Kei gets a call from Gooley, who tells her about this counterfeiting operation run by this old couple whose son died of an accident, residing on a well-guarded island with a manor on top. Kei has to team up with Gooley's assistant, Calico, to infiltrate and stop the counterfeiters. Yuri gets wind of it thanks to Gooley and follows suit. Only to run into the son who is, no surprise, a Terminator. They even referenced the movie, make the son look like young Arnold Schwarzenegger, and try their best not to make the exoskeleton look identical to the Terminator. Still, it was kinda obvious.
The second episode is titled "R-really!? For Beautiful Women, 'Canon' is the Keyword to Escape." Within this episode, a team of 3WA security officers mutiny, takes over a weapons research lab, and takes Gooley hostage. Kei and Yuri are called in by Calico to stop the security team, save Gooley and prevent Eleanor City's destruction. Of course, along the way, Kei and Yuri bickered along the way. Why? Because Kei ate Yuri's cake that she got from this place called the Blue Lagoon. Thankfully, they've kept their focus on the mission and completed it.
What do I think of the episodes as a whole? I find the first one to be pretty good due to how it tried to reference. Just about half of it feels like a Terminator segment when it also has that James Bond-esque feel to it. Especially when Kei had to deal with a laser cutter before she got saved. Not the best, but enjoyable for what they'd delivered. For the second episode, it was fine for what it is when the girls had to go save both Gooley and Eleanor City. Nothing much with the villain of the week except committing mutiny. How it ended was certainly worth shrugging off with how the girls were arguing over yet still had their heads in the game. They're interesting ways to end the first series of Dirty Pair before we tackle the OVA and a movie that they have. For that, I will give these two episodes six Kei strapped to a table with the laser James Bond style out of ten. 6/10.
