This was a direct sequel to the previous TV series, and is much shorter, only 16 episodes instead of 47. I had decently high expectations going in, since the previous tv series was my favorite installment in this franchise so far. And yeah, it's pretty good. Perhaps even ever so slightly better because it's shorter. I said before that while I never became fully bored with it, I was starting to approach that and it ended probably just in the nick of time. But The New Files doesn't have enough time to get bored. I was annoyed that thefirst four episodes were the only ones that were English dubbed. But beyond that though, everything else I enjoyed about the previous season was good here too. My favorite two episodes were episodes 12 and 14. Both of them involved two separate sets of couples going on a date, and they are just wholesome, funny, and likable. Even though they have the same premise, the personalities of all four characters are different, as are their chemistry as couples, which still makes the episodes feel distinct from each other.
