Review of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

Sousou no Frieren is an anime that is an anime worthy of the praise and rating that it's getting, but read the synopsis and watch the anime. You will get the feeling of how this anime got soo much love and affection, in an environment where most people are looking for a fast-paced, to-the-point storyline, and action in every other episode. Yet somehow, someway people have loved its approach of slowly building up the story, the charm of enjoying the journey, being able to relax and feel satisfied after watching an episode, and when the action scene arrives, being mesmerized by the sheer scale ofit. This is possible only because people are willing to invest the time and effort to watch the story unfold and trust the process.

The Viewers deserve as much credit for Frieren as much as the Animators.

Coming onto the Anime itself, the concept of the story beyond the story is unthought of. The parallels between the scenes that occur 80 years apart and Frieren being the common thread are so beautifully shown in the anime. Almost all anime nowadays have an element of Fantasy within it, but Frieren is just a class part.

The main characters Frieren, Fern, and Stark, and their interactions are all one needs to bring a smile to their face, with Fern being our latest meme sensation which I can never get enough of. The series is has some of the most beautiful OSTs in any anime, skillfully crafted by Evan Call, who needs no introduction as the composer for another masterpiece Violet Evergarden.

And the review cannot end without praising Madhouse, given their no-show in recent years, this sure is a way to make a statement and sure seems hopeful given some of their latest animes.

I do hope Frieren retains its No 1 position and this statement ages well, cause Frieren is not just a great anime but one of the best story out there.
