Great anime, but it loses points for the incredibly dull and unsatisfying ending, the final episode wasn't even bad, but the way it ended was the same way most romance animes do. With some sort of excuse or unforeseen circumstance as to why the character couldn't confess his/her feelings. As an anime, I went into this having no interest in Shogi and came out of it having one. The Shogi is relevant to the plot, but you don't need to know how to play it in order to enjoy this anime, its really just a slice of life anime that happens to have shogi in it.Also, there's no overly petty characters. There was a love triangle, but amazingly, instead of trying to sabotage the rival, she helps. This anime is for fans of blossoming romances. It in my eyes, is just a better version of Teasing master takagi-san.
It has a pretty good OP and ED too.
