8.4/10 Are my eyes deceiving me...? A gender reverse world manga where the plot and characters aren't absolute garbage? You're telling me all it took for a manga with this premise to be somewhat decent and enjoyable was to include a MC that isn't horny 24/7? Oh, who would have known! Besides this manga not following in the trashy footsteps of its predecessors, where the MC decides to lay his pipe on every girl he sees, this manga does a lot of things right with its characters and plot. The most notable thing would be switching perspectives. I honestly don't know why mangas don't switch perspectives alot more, since they add an incredible amount of development for the heroines or a certain character that we normally wouldn't have gotten with the MC merely interacting with them. It's honestly so beautifully done in this manga that all the heroines become so unique and notable despite their similar appearances or yandere personalities.
Speaking of the heroines, besides being developed perfectly, their personalities are "fun." Okay, they may not be realistic because why on God's green earth are all of them psychotic, but hey, who's betting on realism in a 1:5 gender reversed world? Also, with the amount of backstory and development each heroine gets, the realism part about how they fall in love with the MC isn't too absurd.
As for the MC himself, he's about the closest thing you'll get to a person who is a "chad" but isn't edgy or forced. His personality doesn't come off as forced, and he isn't one of those cringy "nice guys" either. Well, he is nice, but it's not done in a jarring way. Also, have I mentioned the fact that he isn't unbelievably horny yet? Oh? I have? Well, that's really important, and it was single-handedly the best thing the author could have done.
Unfortunately, there are some negatives about this manga besides one of the heroines literally being a 6th grader. Ahem. Okay, hear me out-. Actually, please don't hear me out on this part. So far, it's been completely unrequited, and the MC sees her as a little sister, which is why this manga isn't getting blasted to oblivion. Also, her development arc was unfortunately done with some impeccable writing.
Now moving onto the actual negatives -- this manga uses one too many flashbacks for its own good. It introduces a heroine that the MC is familiar with, and then BAM: flashback moment to when the MC first met them or something. It's honestly annoying to read, since it comes off as a cop-out kind of way to write. It's still happening by chapter 9 as well, which is annoying.
Another issue is the art. The art is definitely lacking in some departments, and a lot of characters don't have flashy appearances. Though, this isn't a huge nitpick, since the lack of flashiness kind of makes the modern setting of Japan more realistic. You aren't going to be wandering around the streets encountering big-breasted girls with silver hair... I think? If you are, then tell me where for research purposes...
This manga has been one of the more fun harem mangas out there to read, solely because of how ridiculous the personalities the heroines have, and it's even more conflicting due to how well-written they are. If you're bothered by some rather suspicious moments or plot points like A LITERAL 6TH GRADER, then please don't ever check out my age-gap interest stack. Okay, this is good. Bye now.
