Its a story about a boy and girl who become close friends. Miyamura who comes off as a gloomy nerd in school. And Hori who comes off as a perfectly pretty and smart girl. Through circumstances Hori's little brother admires Miyamura as a big brother. Which leads to Miyamura and Hori becoming close. Miyamura eventually becomes friends with Hori's two other friends as well. A girl named Yoshikawa and a guy named Ishikawa (i dont know why their names are so similar) Miyamura and Hori's private personalities are different from their school personalities. Miyamura has a lot of hidden piercings and tattoos. Whereas Hori is muchmore aggressive in private.

Its a nice, funny, school, slice of life, romance.
The characters are interesting. They have genuine nice chemistry. Its endearing.

They didn't make the female character into an annoying tsundere which is good. I dont hate tsundere but a bad tsundere can ruin a good romance and make it toxic an annoying. She isn't any kind of "-dere" at all. She is just a well written girl. Which makes her one of the least generic characters I've seen in a long time.
She is funny and entertaining. She's not just-there-to-be-the-love-interest.
She's not sexualized either. (i like fanservice but i feel fanservice would ruin this anime)

Same goes for the male character. He is timid and feels like an outcast. But he is not overly shy and does open up when he needs to.

Another good thing about the romance is that the anime doesn't wait until the very last episode (or all the way in a season 2) for the characters to admit their feelings. The anime doesn't waste your time or string you along.
