Review of The Elusive Samurai
This anime was FUN as hell. I cant lie I thought this would just be something I throw on int he background and dont pay attention to. The main premise "Leader who is good at running away" intrigued me, but I didnt think I'd get hooked. RIght about episode 3 or 4 I decided this was one of my favorites. The main character is a classic shonen. He has presence and pride and a drive to reach his goal. Could swap him out with Tanjiro from Demon Slayer and you wouldnt notice much of a difference. One of the strengths int his show are int heside characters. The retainers (2 blue haired boys, specifically) are really interesting to me. I love how theyre all slowly learning to be a revolutionary force.
There is an element of the super natural, here. With the future telling priest and the presence of gods / demons that help augment peoples skills. I cant wait for season 2 and Im going to start reading the manga to explore more of the lore.
Last point - it is beautifully animated. Dont put this on in the background. You have to pay attention to really see all the great art
