Review of Tokyo Revengers
If you're looking for a great and worthy story, you will find none here. Tokyo revengers, however, is a true Shonen anime. A pop culture anime if you will. An anime to print money, not one which will be remembered. it is basically made for a young audience. Not at all recommended though if you're on the mature side. 1. Story: The story brings shame to the anime industry. The shallowness in the story is unbelievable. The MC (the weakest mc I've seen) decides to change faith for his love and later on his friends. How self-centered can he be that nobody else is evenin the picture? I detest it when someone who clearly is neither a hero nor a villain becomes the MC. A story clearly depends on its MC to carry it and unfortunately, Takemichi is the weakest of them all. Who would root for someone, whose, intentions are just that shallow? Cool motorcycle gangs and my boy Draken don't save this abomination of the story. 0 points
2. Directing: The cliched shots, cliched dialogs, cliched everything, nothing worthy of mentioning but does its job. 2 point
3. Art: Top notch. Honestly, I really like this new wave of Anime with no content and just an alluring appearance. In our current world, appearance sells and you clearly see it in this anime. Just like everyone else I'm also a slave to appearances. 2 points
4. Characters: Good and bad combined. Although the bad ones are trash, the good ones redeem the bad ones. 1 point.
5. Personal Preference: I don't like trophy wives, and I don't like crap packaged in confetti and gift wraps. Watching 24 episodes and no story development, no character development, just beautiful coloring, and cliched sentimentals. 0 points.
TLDR: This anime is tailored toward weak teenagers who want to fantasize that without trying too much and having goals they just can have the girl, be cool, and be with cool ones. A fantasy world for a younger audience (Although I was not a fan of this logic I understand some young ones would find it entertaining).
