Review of Kaguya-sama: Love is War -Ultra Romantic-
Kaguya-sama Love is War Ultra Romantic is good, not great. If season 1 or 2 was peak anime to the watcher, then season 3 will be your jam. If season 1 and 2 were just alright, then season 3 is much of the same, with an actual episode devoted to romance. Whereas, the previous seasons/episodes have been predominantly slice of life/comedy. That being said, Ultra Romantic has its charm in its characters, which are the greatest aspect of the anime. Animation 7/10 - Not bad, not great, just average. Sound 9/10 - Good OP/ED, great Voice acting. Story 7/10 - It's a slice oflife/comedy that misses the mark on romance.
Characters 8/10
- Best aspect of the show, great side characters who could have had more development in their romances, which would have greatly improved the show. It is a wasted potential that would have been worth the investment.
Enjoyment 7/10
- I enjoyed season 3 more than season 1 and 2, but not by much. All 3 seasons fall short in the romance genre, but they all consistently bring comedy and slice of life to the forefront, which is worth watching.
In summary, Kaguya-sama Love is War Ultra Romantic isn't the best at comedy, nor romance, nor slice of life, but it isn't a bad show. It just lacks focus, trying to be 3 genres at once, but failing to embrace the romance aspect, which has been a flaw for much of the series.
