Honestly the anime should get 10 stars alone just for how damn amazing madhouse did on the animation. While the story may not appeal to all as it's not some grand adventure to save the world nor is there any clear objective till several episodes in, it is filled some absolutely incredibly animated fight scenes that are worth watching. it also has little to no plot armor keeping characters alive when they should otherwise die as the mc, Frieren, is one of the oldest and strongest mages around and thus has no need for plot armor. that's not to say she has no flaws tospeak of. while she is an amazing fighter she herself knows she doesn't really have an overabundance of emotion due to her being an elf. all elves are kinda like this to some extent though due to how growing too attached to anyone not an elf could make living life hard (Frieren herself is over 1000 years old, with at least one elf living far far longer). Of course a running gag exists, the running gag being she is the pinnacle of not being a morning person as she will always sleep till noon.

I could go on but as there are 28 episodes I would be here for a while. So I'll end with this. watch the first 5 or 6 episodes to see if the story appeals to you. as I said the story isn't for everyone as it's more of a slice of life then most. If you stick around you will witness some of the best animation seen in at least a decade.
