Review of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End
What an amazing anime, I enjoyed it way too much. I've always loved magic, and in games I always go straight for the mage or wizard, so this felt like a story I would love to live in. Frieren isn’t just about flashy spells, it’s about the quiet weight of time, memories, and the meaning of bonds. The way the story is told really stands out. Instead of rushing from one big battle to another, it slows down and lets you feel every moment, every little journey, every quiet reflection. The pacing might not be for everyone, but for me, it made it even more special. It felt like I was traveling alongside Frieren and her companions, watching the world change while she slowly opens up her heart.
The characters are incredible. Frieren herself is fascinating, an elf who lived through so much yet struggles to truly understand what humans feel. Watching her grow, little by little, is so rewarding. The supporting cast is also great, each one adding their own layer of warmth, humor, and humanity to the journey.
Visually, it’s beautiful. The world feels alive, full of detail, with stunning magic sequences that still keep that calm, melancholic tone the story carries. And the soundtrack… it really hits you in those quiet moments, perfectly balancing the emotions, but on the exciting moments it goes HARD!
For me, Frieren is not just a fantasy anime. It’s about appreciating life, cherishing the people around you, and realizing that even the smallest memories can mean everything. It gave me that nostalgic feeling, like finishing a long RPG and looking back at all the adventures and the friends you made along the way.
Truly one of the most touching and magical series I’ve ever watched. can't wait for the rest of it!
