Review of The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3
What can I say? The anime had a lot of potential, but unfortunately, it falls short in too many areas. There are a lot of missed opportunities to make the story compelling, but the writing and execution fail to deliver. The plot feels all over the place, jumping from one random event to another without a clear direction. While the concept itself could have worked with better writing, the way it was handled here just doesn't do it justice. One of the biggest issues is the character interactions. They often feel unnatural and childish, almost like something you'd expect from a kindergarten-level dialogue. This lack ofdepth makes it hard to get invested in the characters or their relationships. Speaking of characters, their development is practically non-existent. There's no growth, no meaningful evolution, just static personalities that feel more like plot devices than real people.
What’s worse, the anime is so poorly written that it becomes incredibly boring to watch. There’s no immersion at all. The lack of a compelling narrative and weak character interactions make it hard to stay engaged, and as a result, you just end up zoning out instead of being drawn into the story. The whole experience feels like a chore rather than entertainment.
Ultimately, the anime had the foundation to be something good, but the poor writing and lackluster execution hold it back from reaching its full potential.
