7 /10

This series is essentially taking tropes from 70s and 80s Super Robot and bringing them into the 90s. The animation still definitely holds up, despite looking slightly lower quality for 1999. The story isn't exactly that good, but you don't come into giant robot anime expecting something good. If you're a fan of old school mecha, you'll enjoy this without question. The mech designs are excellent and are the strongest point of this series. It feels like they try to give a "realistic" view on super robot tropes, without doing something depressing like Evangelion. The dubbing itself isn't that bad. Despite being adub from 2002, some of the voice work doesn't sound that awful. The only voice I really have a problem with is Ayame, but otherwise it's a solid 3/5 dub.
