Review of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2

Ok ummm... this was way better than I expected. I found this season on the Internet Archive in 480p, I didn't have anywhere to watch it so of course I tried it out there, but I was enjoying it so much that I decided to just leave the low quality version and wait until I got the new Blu-ray Crunchyroll just released. I eventually found it in London, and it was expensive but worth it. I remember trying to get through the Kyoto School Exchange arc in Season 1 and thinking that the show was a bit overrated. There were some great episodes in Season 1,but overall it was just... a 4/5 shonen anime.

But I was wrong, and it was so worth sticking around for this incredible season. First of all, Hidden Inventory was an amazing opening arc, it was full of amazing scenes and twists, it added more depth to the story, and I had more respect for the characters' whose backstories were explored. I realised that this wasn't just some 'fun' shonen stuff.

So after this, The Shibuya Incident blew me away. I love Tokyo and Shibuya and how modern and futuristic the place is, but this arc had so much focus on the location... and the detail was astonishing, as well as the animation. A few episodes later the show was full of gore, spectacular nightmarish visuals (which looked amazing on the Blu-ray) and depressing deaths. I feel bad for what MAPPA employees are being put through, but they are just so talented for the time and pressure they had.

The last few episodes weren't as good as the climax but still pretty damn good (I liked seeing THAT character again, plus the setup for Season 3 was effective, I'm excited). Also the hate for the ending is ridiculous, the people complaining do not know what a bad ending really is.

So yes, a 10/10 from me for now. I'm not 100% sure about the score but I'll rewatch it soon to get a proper one.
