This is a vast improvement and much needed prequel/ incite on the thoughts of Tamiyo for the original Hikari club. I read these back to back and while with the first, I felt no real attachment to the characters really at all except for Kannon and Lichi. However this definitely helps with making you feel more attached with the characters as you see the actual creation to takeover by the Zera in it. I still recommend reading the original first before this one as that is how it’s intended to be read but I do think reading it the other way would give the originalstory more weight.
