Medicine to cure anything, or poison to kill an army. Potions can be a lot of fun. Story: Unfortunately, the whole "potion" thing is a very small part of the story in the beginning. She's afraid to create them, since it's the most magic-like power in the world, which draws a lot of attention. But she stays strong, doing what she can to live a good life. A big part of the story is very calm and slow, "slice of life". When something happens, the girl creates potions to deal with it, and then she moves to another location. That is the formula for a coupleof volumes. Until it's no longer possible to pretend to be normal.

In Sword Art Online, it's only about SAO for a very short time, then it changes to a broader topic. In Attack On Titan, it's only about "Titans" for a short while, then it grows into something else. See my point here? The potions in this story is an eye catcher, but it moves forward beyond that pretty early. If that is good or bad, that's up to you.

Art: The art is colorful and happy looking, but the cover seems a bit immature and silly compared to the story itself. I was put off, since the art did not make me wanna give it a chance. But when actually reading the story and seeing the childish protagonist doing something horrifying, that is an amazing mix of emotions for the readers. (kinda like "Made in Abyss")

Characters: A female main character is not too uncommon these days, Kaoru the Potion Maker is not exactly a ground breaking addition to the girl force. But, Kaoru being a tough girl that wants nothing more than an easy life, gives you an interesting read. She lacks any sex appeal being a 15 year old A-cup, she does not have a harem, nor is she super strong in battle. She's just a cool young woman that live for her own happiness.

Overall, this Author is used to writing stories with a Female Protagonist, and it's very well written. But it is "one of those stories" that you are getting sick and tired of by now. Does every Japanese person revive in a fantasy world? Seems like it. But due to the writing skill of the author, it was worth reading the first volume, and because of the interesting story I shall continue reading future volumes, probably.

+ Kaoru is very interesting, yet not exaggerated in any way
+ No Magic, even though it's a fantasy world, it's interesting
+ Good Author, experienced with female protagonists
+ "Our family's genes are gonna run rampant" (a joke from the book)
- A Sci-fi explanations about why she died. Hard to follow
- Potions are not a big part of the story early on

In the end of the day, this was just my opinion. A lot of you will be bored and move on to your beloved SAO and Overlord books, and that's fine. All I can say is that the girl, Kaoru, her Potions and the world she's in is not original but at least it's superior to many other similar works.
