For the Kid I Saw in My Dreams · review
An overcomplicated mess that started off so simple and perfect but just kept stretching for no reason. Ok so, twins that have some sort of supernatural connection. Common trope with twin stories, perfectly acceptable. A highschool badass in a gang that has the same strenght if not more than a professional fighter, again a common trope, I can still dig it. A story about avenging the death of your dearest beloved, nice! Good hook...wait...Wait what the fuck is happening. Every volume feels worse and worse writing wise and I don't get why when it was so damn perfect at the start. Senri and Kazuto are interesting, why couldn'twe have them partner up and deal with the crime drama together instead of having two separate tales at once that both just felt lukewarm for the most part?
A lot of the twists and turns feel forced because the author simply wanted to have them in there, without considering how cheap they feel. Seriously like how am I supposed to care about all the bad things happening when most of these developments genuinely just suck ass and disappoint me?
Starts off with promise, gets worse and worse until you just feel bitter at the end.
