Refreshing for an isekai. The MC is quite likable. He switches from a corpo-slave-plus-bookworm to a carefree, lazy personality, landing him somewhere in the middle. His efforts to juggle his academic life, seek freedom, and maintain his (comedic) pride keep the story fresh. Although it has many common isekai tropes, the story still feels refreshing as the protagonist is aware of them. He has his own thoughts about these tropes, and either tries to trigger them or avoids them, which makes the story either more adventurous or humorous. He is not suddenly the strongest SSS-Ranker, and he has plenty of weaknesses that he tries to overcome. The othercharacters shine as well. They scramble to catch up, gossip wildly, and misinterpret the MC’s actions as wild schemes and even acts of rebellion. During all this chaos, the fantasy elements like magic training and noble politics are kept in balance.

The pacing is brisk. The story goes through many interesting events with little downtime. The world-building is solid without overwhelming details. There are some digressions in the first volume that stray from the main narrative to explain the world-building elements. But it all pays off later on, so not a bad deal.

Overall, it's wild and witty. Read it for the action, the isekai, the comedy, and the social dynamics.
