Hataraku Saibou: Necchuushou - Moshimo Pocari Sweat ga Attara · review

I already had a feeling it would lean into being a promo, and… yeah, it kind of does. But to its credit, it still manages to feel like a proper Hataraku Saibou episode in terms of tone and execution. The educational part? Still solid. It dives into what happens when your body overheats and how dehydration affects everything from your cells to your organs. Animation-wise, it holds up. Nothing too flashy, but consistent with what you'd expect from a short episode. It features the usual crew doing their part, and while the plot is simple (a character collapses from heatstroke and everyone scrambles to fix it), itserves its purpose well. The pacing is fast, but not in a bad way—it just knows it’s a one-off and gets straight to the point.
Now, let’s be real—the whole "Pocari Sweat saves the day" part is... not subtle at all 😂. Like, the branding is loud and proud. But I didn’t really mind it, since it doesn’t take away from the actual educational message. If anything, I kind of appreciated that they tried to deliver some health awareness alongside the ad. It’s just funny when you realize, “Ahh okay, this was totally made to sell sports drinks.”
Overall, it’s a good watch—especially if you’re already into the franchise. Just don’t go in expecting major plot or emotional depth. It’s short, informative, and kind of wholesome in a way. Also made me want to drink water right after. So... mission accomplished?
