Torokeru Tamago to Bed no Naka de · review
It's a lovely BL. The characters may look sweet and saccharine, their relationship fluffy, but they are both very grounded in human struggles. Their conflicts, too, are very much realistic, a significant slice of LGBTQ+ rights and acceptance that I'm sad to see hasn't been going through that much progress between THEN and NOW. I also enjoy that their problem escalates not just because of stupid miscommunication. There is a fundamental gap between the two main characters; a gap of experience and idealism and trauma blending into one, crumbling at the worst moment possible. And yet the core of it IS love. The two main characters wantto cherish and protect each other.
If anything, the resolution feels a tad TOO dramatic. They're still good, don't get me wrong, but at the same time they're still like....this grand gesture of romance, which feels juuuuust the slightest bit of melodramatic against the grounded issue.
But that's okay. It's a sweet and lovely resolution, and the ending too is very heartwarming.
Definitely something I'll read again.
