(English is not my first language, so sorry if I'm lack in vocabulary or if I have some grammar mistakes) If you're a new comer and you want to check out a good romance anime, I highly recommend Tsuki ga Kirei. But if you have seen so many romance anime already, I don't think you will enjoy this anime as much. For me, personally, it's the latter. Tsuki ga Kirei is a romance anime that talks about every stage of young love: Having a crush on someone, confessing, dating, being turned down, jealousy, etc. Through out 12 episodes, we see the two main characters, Kotarou and Amane, growas a couple and as individuals. From simply classmates, they became soul-mates that cheer on each other, being the emotional support on their works.

The story is very basic and the plot is predictable, the drama is not heavy, and the characters aren't even that interesting. Many people will say this anime is very boring. But I think the simplicity of the show is the charm on its own. It's very refreshing watching a show where you don't expect any surprising plot and just enjoy the chemistry between our main couple. The shyness of two middle schoolers who just experienced their first love is really cute.

I believe many people was drawn into this anime because of its artstyle and how praised this show was, just to be hit with a mediocre story, overuse of CGI and uninspired characters. It's fair if you think this anime is overrated, but for an original work, I think it's pretty decent.

Overall, Tsuki ga Kirei is not a great anime, but it's not a bad anime, either. It's a good starter anime that many people would enjoy.
