There are a great number of animated MVs listed on this website. Most are unfortunately forgettable, lacking the ability to produce a lasting impression. 'Airy Me' on the other hand, is very distinctive and memorable, with the potential to stay with you for a long time. The visuals that accompany the song show a dreamlike, almost roto-scoped state of mind. From the loose and fluffy line-work to the muted color palette, this MV is almost like peering into a nightmare and a trance all at one. Some of the images are disturbing, contrasting strongly with the slow pace of the music, adding a sense ofdiscord and uneasiness to the tone.
The music is slowly paced and almost methodical in its sound. The instrumentation is mellow and helps focus in on Cuushe's haunting voice.
The narrative of this piece is tragic and psychedelic, melancholy palpable in each image. The disturbing subject matter of this animation is rare in music videos, and may put many viewers off.
Overall, I strongly recommend this music video. The art style is so distinct and so scary and beautiful that I could recommend this to anyone interested in experimental animation.
