Review of A Place Further Than The Universe
**Note in any of my reviews, I usually keep spoilers out and talk about what's presented in the synopsis as well as the trailer. ** A place further than the universe, a place that comes to you in a way to make you laugh, cry, and experience beauty in story and art combined. This anime shows youth, it shows friendship, it shows hardship, it shows lessons that you possibly didn't learn in your youth and are now learning possibly as an adult. It's an adventure that takes you to Antarctica, while also wishing you had that type of experience going anywhere with a group of amazingfriends. In general, if you haven't watched this anime, and have been pushing it off like myself, you are seriously missing out.
**Story** (10)
The story is one to give little insight and to not spoil yourself on at any point. Doing so would hurt your own experience of such an amazing story.
A place farther than the universe's real highlight is within its story. It's an anime that shows that real-life adventure animes can do just as much, or even better, then fantasy, or sci-fi. The real emotional parts punch your right in the guts, and the real comedy parts will have you at least smiling. It's something that will attach to you, but also take itself away from you in a satisfying conclusion. At times it may be possible that you may reflect on your own life, your friends (or used to be friends), your own family, and adventures that you wish you could have. The story is one of the inspiring tales and creative thought that no story I have ever seen has pulled off before (within anime at the very least). I wish I could put better words that would give thanks to the studio, to this anime, for the amazing experience the story gives. But it's more than likely that you'll experience the same, and so the story should be enough for you to watch this anime.
**Art/Animation**(9)
The art and animation for a place further than the universe fits beautifully with details put in the right places, and animations that go amazingly. It's aesthetically and artistically pleasing, and it's the second thing that you surely are to love and or enjoy, and it makes you feel as though you're with these characters where ever they may be. I mean we're talking about Studio Madhouse, the creators of such amazing art and animation from One-Punch Man, Death Parade, No Game No Life. This anime's art isn't necessarily perfect, but it's not something that hinders the anime what so ever and, in actuality, adds greatly to it.
**Sound** (9)
The sounds and music of this anime isn't something to special that is something to receive rewards about that is. But similarly to art/animation, it adds greatly to the anime overall. The music never gets redundant and fits perfectly for the same track used in every one of its emotional type of scenes. The opening is something that I usually skip, and it's no different here either. However that is usually my own opinion about openings, and it's usually not because of the quality. In reality, the opening does very well and is a nice look and listen to for a few times. Overall, it's something that you start to enjoy when in combination with the story and art as well as animation.
**Characters (design)** (10)
Each main character within this anime each comes with loveable traits, and characteristics cons that infringe on the other characters. You see them struggle to make them far from being any type of perfect person (and not perfect as in the quality of the design, but perfect as in making a character with struggles is good design). The design of each character fits perfectly, and they carry how they present the character's characteristics completely through (where if a character has one trait, she'll be like that similarly in other situations). The characters are what makes the story so amazing, because you see a true friendship between them, not something forced because of the plot, and not something unrealistic. These are characters who you wish were your friends, and are characters who can be easily translated to real-life people. The characters alone should be enough reason for you to watch this anime, and the characters alone will have you believe that this anime is an amazing masterpiece.
**Enjoyment** (10)
As you could probably tell, the enjoyment of this anime is of greatness. As I said, you'll either laugh or smile, you'll cry, and you'll get to enjoy an adventure even through a media such as anime. It's something you'll miss out if you don't start, and it's something you'll miss out if you don't finish.
