What would you do if you could command anyone to do anything you want? This is the power granted to our main character Lelouch, who conveniently has wanted to rebel against his nation for their unjust acts. If this sounds at all interesting to you I guarantee you will enjoy this anime as it is fit for literally anyone because if you like school anime, mecha anime, psychological anime, or overthrowing the nation anime, you’re gonna like it because it has all of those components in it. If the main idea of it is the least bit interesting to you, I promise you you’re goingto find something to enjoy in this anime

(spoiler free)

Story - 10
The plot of Code Geass really is amazing, similar to Death Note, the power given to our main character is simple and easy to understand, except for coming with some rules. The main character also has a motive to make the world a better place and uses their power to accomplish that. All arcs are very enjoyable and full of suspense, moves at a great speed as well. The last few episodes of season one are also pretty insane but amazing to watch.

Art - 8
It annoys some people how the characters are really tall and thin but you get used to it after just a few episodes and it’s really not that bad at all.

Sound - 9
The soundtrack is overall very good throughout the anime. Massive suspense in the correct places and fun music during scenes that are supposed to lighten your mood. The only thing I would say is sometimes it feels like they should’ve broadened the amount of music they use because a lot of music is often repeated but it’s not too much of a problem because it sounds amazing. The openings and endings are great! I love opening and ending 1.

Characters - 10
The main character, Lelouch, is a super likable character and you always want to side with him. He’s extremely intelligent and he also has good morals. On the other hand, his best friend Suzaku who essentially fights against Lelouch’s rebellion also has good morals, but has different ideas of how to fix the nation. This conflict is very interesting to watch. The side characters are also very well written and I liked all of them!

Enjoyment - 10
This anime is so enjoyable because it appeals to everyone. There is a school fun aspect, mecha aspect, overthrowing the nation aspect and psychological aspect which I loved. I loved seeing Lelouch grow and how he questioned whether what he was doing was ethical or not at times. I really like the dynamic between him and Suzaku.

Also, I think it’s important to note that I am not a mecha fan. But I still enjoyed the mecha in this anime, because it wasn’t overdone.

Overall - 9
You’re gonna like this anime no matter what, because you’re going to find something about it that you really like so you might as well give it a watch.

TLDR: A great matchup of school scenes comedy powers and psychological aspects put into one anime but it worked out perfectly and is super enjoyable. Really recommend you try this anime.
