Bakemonogatari Short Review by rfonzx Tl;dr: Bakemonogatari is a worth-watching anime with a fleshed-out cast. Another good thing about the anime is the narrative; especially the nuanced dialogue within the characters. I decided to start my September off by watching the Monogatari series; the self-acclaimed flawless anime by my friend, with nothing in sight topping it, or at least, that's what he said. In order for me to watch the whole thing, Firstly, I need to be watching Bakemonogatari. And it's been a good experience so far, can't wait to see what are they gonna serve to me next (Nisemonogatari). For me, there exists three bestaspect within this anime:

1. Narrative
Since this was my first time experiencing Nisio Isin's work, I was blown away by how he/she/they makes the dialogue. It's full of "foreshadowing", and it's very enjoyable; you could feel the enjoyment often, even though you're only watching the characters talking about random stuffs. Shaft --the studio that created this anime-- also deserves a standing applause. I loved how they visualized the light novel that Nisio Isin created, into this anime. The whole anime itself, is in fact, full of in-depth foreshadowing and symbolization that'd take a lot of time to finds out what the true meaning is. But fear not, in my opinion, as long as you know what the main message per arc is , you'd be fine. You don't necessarily need to find out what the true meaning of every of the implicit things in this anime while watching it for the first time. You should only do that if u have finished the whole series; aka re-watch.

2. Cast
In only 15 episodes, they did a good job making every of the cast lovable. Not only lovable, but also well written, and they do not just necessarily include them into the series, without no purpose in the series at all! They all exists within series because they were meant to be. And the thing is, the quality of the cast will always increase as we went further into the series, or to say at least, that's what I believe what's gonna happen later on.

3. Conclusion/final say
The final say of this anime is very-well executed and heartwarming (I know it sounds a bit cliché, but whatever). We could see a very contrast difference (in a good way), in the first episode and the last episode of the series; the result of the casts' character journey and development.

Overall: 6.5-7/10 (in my scale, it means good!)

End of the review.
Thank you for reading it, and have a nice day!
