Review of School Days

I am somehow disappointing by watching this as this sort of anime does not really appeal to me, but somehow I also am happy that I watched it, burned through the last 5 episodes to see the ending. Basically I watched it because many said it had similarities to Mirai Nikki, let me tell you, I found none. This series is more of a highschool love story not a survival game. I felt that everything is hyper-inflated, especially the cheating, Spoiler follows, yes you can cheat on one girlfriend with another girl, but cheat on both with 2 more? No way but it it servesthe purpose of this anime, to show you what messing with people's feeling does.

Is this anime full of gore like Mirai Nikki, no, just the end episode, but it's the climax the story builds up to, normal considering the abuse inflicted by the psycho main character. And yes, this one fits the psycho definition having no feelings for the girls, just pure manipulation to get them in bed. To this respect this anime is wonderfully done. Also the girls presented have back stories which fit nicely within the main story.

Yandere present here, I dare say no! Although one character kills in the end, she has no yandere traits in my opinion (or Yuno Gasai is just a prefect Yandere), she does not care if she is cheated on, just cries and tires to get the guy back by showing some care and maybe more since that's all he is interested in. So no Yandere, just reached the boiling point, anyone would do that if subjected to mistreatment and abuse right?

The art is nicely done, the characters are nicely done and fit the story.

Should you watch it? Yes, if you are a teenager in highschool watch it, learn from it not to treat people like that and learn to use protection when sleeping with someone not to cause more unnecessary and unwanted pain. If you are an adult, watch it also, it's a good life lesson to value the people around you.
