*Contains Spoilers* This review is for both the first and second seasons. So honestly, I totally understand the hate that's being spewed around due to the "endless eight" that the second season exhibited. And I think that they could have done MUCH more with this series instead of ruining a great show with a ton of filler. To start, the story is basic, it's about a girl named Haruhi Suzumiya who happens to change things around her based on her mood or preferences at the time. And that's it. They never delve more into what she can really do, or WHY she has this power to do so.They explain that three years prior to the happenings in this show, she suddenly started changing things, without going into much detail. The first season was better than the second one, as the second season is FILLED with filler.

The art and sound are both acceptable. I have to admit that the both opener songs are great and got stuck in my head for a while after watching. I also think that the art is pretty good for a 2007-2009 anime.

Now here is why I give this anime a seven. The characters. They definitely make this anime enjoyable to watch, and I definitely got connected to them over time.

Overall I would say watch the first season and then skip a few episodes into the second season, as you will basically be watching the same thing for 8 episodes. I think if they spent more time developing Haruhi and the SOS brigade they could have made a much better show overall. There's a lot of filler in this, but the characters are definitely likable and I had a fun time watching their misadventures.
