Yes! Precure 5 Movie: Kagami no Kuni no Miracle Daibouken! · review
It had a great concept, an even better throw-in idea, annnndd bad execution. Nowhere near as bad as the Splash Star movie mind you. It was about A villain from the "mirror kingdom", shadow, cloning Precure essentially and making a Dark Pretty Cure. The girls all did the typical "1v1 against my own clone" thing, not each others to shake it up smh, but whatever. This concept WOULD be really interesting, if they didn't already do it mid-season with Kawarino sending them into the despair masks, which WORKED BETTER THAN THIS. Interestingly, Milk played a role in getting two of Shadow's helpers (they were trickedinto helping him) to save Coco and Nuts. Shadow actually WAS able to get the Dream Collet, but there was a stupid mess-up where "his dream failed" because Lemonade still had a Pinky left in her watch transformation thing. Yeah turns out little details CAN mess you up. Nozomi's clone was the only one to survive and help out the real Cures, learning human emotions and all that good junk, but oh no it didn't last, she died when Shadow punched her, since we can't have two Nozomis in the storyline. All in all, I thought the movie wasn't exactly snore inducing, but didn't quite make you jump from your seat. They also had a weird "miracle light" thing I assume they wanted the audience to follow along with, but obviously I didn't have this. They got a HUGE butterfly upgrade too for their final form, and we got the long-ass dragged out Pretty Cure Five Explosion (felt even longer than usual, but whatever, you gotta go out with a bang). Shadow barely did anything in her final upgraded form though and it went straight to credits once the girls left to dance. Pretty anticlimactic. Since Myanimelist does it on a 1/10 basis, I'll have to go with...drum roll 🥁 a 6/10!
