Review of Waiting in the Summer

Finally finished this anime so I can say I am qualified to actually give my opinionated review of it. This anime has been on my plan to watch list for about 4 years now and I have kept putting it off to watch others and am now getting around to it and was very exited to watch it. Unfortunately by the end of the show I was extremely disappointed in just about everything it had to offer. Everyone aside from the two MC's seemed to be lifeless in terms of their development only contributing a role into transitioning to the next direction forthe show. In my honest opinion the Male MC in the show was a huge let down in terms of how he carried himself and how he acted in situations that had been presented to him.

In terms of genres for Comedy it was very subpar and rarely if even ever made me crack a smile. Drama was there but seemed way to forced instead smoothly diving into it mainly due to the lack of care you would have for anyone else in the show besides the main two. And now for my biggest reason for wanting to watch the show the Romance, Oh boy I have seen quite a bit of romance and the way "Ano Natsu de Matteru" portrays it is just bottom of the barrel I had literally no reason for wanting these two to get together or have anything to do with one another. Unfortunately I've even seen harem anime do romance better and that's saying something.

So in the end if you are coming into this for romance then do yourself a favor and watch just about anything other than this mess. Everything else is mediocre and just plain bad writing.
