Review of Redline

As I'm writing this review, the anime's OST is being blasted in the background cause it's so damn good! This was definitely the most surprising find for me and a great way to start 2022. Story: I rated the storyline of this film a 6 because as much as I enjoyed the fun and craziness of it, the whole course of the show was pretty predictable. Most of the time you can actually tell what's gonna come in the next minute or so, so don't expect any major plot twists to come your way. However, the film does have a few in between nice shortand sweet moments (I won't spoil these for you) that fitted well with the overall plot and direction it intended.

Characters:
Characters in this film were crazy! The design, characteristics , colors, concept... everything! It's so crazy that it pops out above some of the other animation I've seen in the past 2 years and boy what a treat. Every racer in this anime has a uniqueness of their own although not entirely fresh but still, it was very well crafted and designed to show each racer's individuality and quirks. You may not be able to pinpoint any specific favourites in this film as it gets kinda super fast-paced especially in the races, but that does not bother me.

Animation:
I am no animation expert, but the races in the film (which is an integral part of the plot and movie's theme) get a bit blurry over time cause there's just so much action going on. Note to readers, do not watch this show while eating - some may get motion sickness from all the crazy spinning and zooming and vroom vrooming. I actually somehow felt like I was being pulled into the races while watching this on my small laptop screen- that in itself was quite an experience.

Soundtrack:
As per my first sentence in this review, the music of this film is LIT! Hands down the perfect jam for a crazy fast-paced show like this. The OST called Yellow Line is my favourite from the show and gave it the perfect opening. The jam is full of techno, so if you are not into that, then I am so sorry cause this film is jam-packed with techno beats.

Overall:
I was not sure what to expect when I first found Redline, but I definitely did enjoy this crazy wild ride. If you are into romance, this show has some bits of it too.
