Review of Neon Genesis Evangelion

This anime is probably one of the worst animes I've ever watched. To put it shortly, the main characters nor the story are anything special, just more self-hating, daddy issued characters that everyone has seen tens of times, except this time they don't get over the matter or somewhat deal with the issues in their life, instead continuing the cycle of perpetually self-hating until the very end, making it very repetitive,boring and quite predictable. The last two episodes, despite being very different from all the others, somehow make it even worse, as the "phylosofical" aspect of it is utterly irrelevant to the story; not only did Inot get what they were trying to portray (if there was even something trying to be portrayed to begin with), but it also already had been feeling like a drag to watch and this only came to solidify it.

Action wise it still has some good bits, especially saying this as a first time "mecha genre" watch, but it hardly compensates for what I mentioned earlier.
The opening theme is a banger though, I'll give it that.

After seeing how well regarded this anime is, even being called a masterpiece, I can't believe how disappointingly bad it turned out to be.
