Review of Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel - II. Lost Butterfly

They blueballed me for two hours and then they didn't even give me the Nine Lives Blade Works scene. 0/10 But visually it's a really good movie, the backgrounds got a majestic lighting on them even in he most insignificant scenes, I appreciate the rare occasions when japanese animations give a shit about backgrounds. So 5/10 But that part where Berserker kept dying and coming back to life was awesome, and that part where Sakura fuking chops Gilgamesh's leg off and he's offended she tried to make him kneel, a short but memorable character moment, it justifies his presence in the movie since he's virtually useless inthe VN at this point. So 7/10

I guess I gotta give it to 'em, they improved pretty much every scene from the VN with this movie, they made a lot of the dull moments really cinematic and grandious, like when Sakura swallows Gilgamesh, oh man. So 10/10

But they had to include stuff from Fate/Go like Saber Alter's whore costume and a reference to Emiya Alter, because sadly that's the most important part of this joke of a franchise now.

Minors having sex, that's a big no-no right there. Sakura in general is a character I hate, you can tell so clearly she was written by a lonely japanese man since everything that comes out of her mouth is either slighlty misogynistic or self-deprecating.

They didn't let Illya sing in german, that's bad.

In general, there's too much exposition time and the pasing is pretty slow, I often felt bored because it felt like nothing important was gonna happen and it didn't.

Again, I have to wait two years for that sweet Nine Lives scene, what the fuck Ufotable? So I think 7/10 is pretty fair overal it's still a really good looking moviel, this franchise needs to die already please stop spending money on Fate/Go you fucking losers.
