Review of Gangsta.

Wasted potential. The first episode shows a gritty, dirty world, where wicked men engage in their dark business. A prostitute addicted to drugs, some a small time street thugs, a violent pimp, and a cop. It seemed like a film noir for a little bit. Then, everything goes off the rails. Superpowers, child crime bosses, and almost no character development. A stark contrast with the realistic, somber tone of the beginning. The series was also never completed, so if you star watching, be aware that you will only get half a season. I wish I had known that before I started. Although, for the reasons above,I would have ended up dropping it if there was more tha one full season. Still, it would be nice to have a conclusion for the plot.

I wish someone would make a series about the world and characters episode 1 hinted this would be about.
