Review of The Rising of the Shield Hero
Different from other Isekai anime, this Isekai is more serious and not a power Fantasy like the others. We start off with the MC Naofumi Iwatani that is unwillingly summoned into a fantasy world by a kingdom. Story (10) I always love a serious and emotional revenge story of an underdog. The Hero of the Story is treated like trash, everyone dislikes him and they even branded him as a criminal. He is stripped of everything and yet hasn't given up, he stood again and will show them what he can do on his own. If you like a semi-dark fantasy isekai with still a part of the lighthearted tone, youwill like this anime. If you like the story of an underdog that going against the whole world, you will like this anime.

The art is solid and beautiful, the color for the special effect and emotion drew on the character expression is phenomenal.
The art capture the raw emotion of wrath, sadness, happiness, exponentially.
I only gave it 9 because there I notice that there is undetailed drawing on a character from distance or when a character is in the background.

I'm a fan of 0 to Hero type Main Character and Naofumi embodied that type so well, he started off as weak, and as the story goes he become stronger and stronger.
There is even a time when he shielded his allies from a powerful attack that left him dying and almost died. Very different from your typical Overpowered Isekai MC, Naofumi struggle to become strong and as a tanker are put in through.
Raphtalia's personality is great and wise, she is the only person who supported Naofumi even when the whole kingdom despises him. Despite being a Naofumi party member, she doesn't always nod to everything Naofumi does and did, if she thinks he is making a wrong mistake, she wouldn't hesitate to question his decision.
Enjoyment (8)
The first 22 episodes is a journey with full satisfaction and revenge against those who have done him wrong, saving the slave from their cruel noble, the tension from fighting the wave is really enjoyable.
But unfortunately, the last 3 episode is kinda like a leftover going into another season. I don't mind it of course, but having to wait years for the second season is definitely stealing my enjoyment so I gave an 8.
They could have put all of that in next season instead of cramping it here.

I love 0 to Hero MC, I love Revenge story of Underdog, I love non overpower Isekai MC, this is just my favorite Isekai up to now along with Konosuba and Re;zero.
