Review of The Rising of the Shield Hero
DISCLAIMER: I've been following a "cut content" series on YouTube, so I might mention differences from the source from time to time, or jumble the show and source together. Story: 8/10, nice deconstruction of the isekai trope, the main character is really the underdog without being completely powerless, though the show apparently skips a lot of the grinding, crafting, etc to give a sense of accomplishment rather than a sense of "oh they are more powerful now, cool." They also skipped some actually important parts of the narrative and changed stuff in a way that don't always completely make sense, in particular that Naofumi and therest of the protagonists are a bit more kindhearted and gentle than they are supposed to be, which feels out of place at times.
Art: Good art, but while the CG isn't terrible it stands out at times, 7/10
Sound: I've never noticed bad voice acting, and the OSTs are good even though they aren't truly amazing, 8/10
Character: Due to stuff previously mentioned, 7/10 (which is a shame, because the light novels sense of character and characters seems more appealing to me and would have gotten the show a higher score)
Enjoyment: 8/10, good fun in the end, but could have definitely been adapted better.
