Review of The Ancient Magus' Bride
mahoutsukai no yome was the very first anime that i've completely finished, and recently rewatched. i've always tended to read more books than watching anime but this changed basically everything i do now. the character designs look really neat. i especially love how chise's casual clothes contrast to elias' flowing robe and very 'proper' clothes. the story has a pretty easy premise to follow. chise is auctioned off, elias buys her, they proceed to do lots of things together. chise's actually kinda special, and elias is like "woah this is good". i wasn't looking for anything with a too-special story but for me being in 7th/8th gradeand seeing it, i liked it. it reminded me of the fantasy novels i loved to read all the time!!
the 1st opening is still my favorite. the voice actors do super good jobs. :]
overall, i really enjoyed this anime. if you're looking for a dark fantasy and supernatural kinda anime then this is definitely one you should watch.
