Review of The Ancient Magus' Bride

S. In short, I didnt like it, mostly because I quite dislike story that is too rushed and quite often has problematic messages or great questions that arent addressed at all. It is a mess, The only episode I entirely liked was the first one and that was because I didnt know it wont go anywhere. But I give it 7, because art and sound design are mostly nice. Not always, there are a lot of places where I felt they didnt show me any reason to feel what they expect from me like when I am supposed to understand how great it is to flyand ... they glide in place. They are located 500m above ground, that is what flysing is about, being above ground, not being able to move in 3D space faster than on ground and without worry to hurt yourself. I was just shocked how underdeveloped and rushed the scene was. "There are some well designed moments". That is it. And why is the first ending singing about pregnancy and motherhood? Like seriously? Another disappointing thing was that this is basically a hidden shounen. Dont be fooled, the main protagonist is that skull-guy, his bride is just a center of camera focus. He is constantly rescuing her, or letting her die on her own while he isnt looking, she cant do a thing without him which is somehow true for at least 3 females who needs constant protection, Chise, her mom and that sorcerer lady even as they are all on paper way more gifted than them.

And why nobody likes sorcerers? Why it is just mentioned they are human supremacists but they never show it? What is good about being human? How would not being human effect Chise besides "you get to look a little bit strange". How is Chise even weaker than normal? It looks like a form of a cancer, not an actual weakness. Was it ok for that bad guy (or anyone) to be punished for eternity? Does God exist in this universe and what is he doing besides cursing some humans so they can go on a bloody rampage around the world without a possibility to stop them? IT IS A BAD STORY. Very bad story. Art is nice, I quite like some animations, scenes and music, some characters are intriguing, that is it.
