Review of Wonder Egg Priority: My Priority
Okay so I'm not entirely sure on how to feel about this. Though this definitely isn't good. The thing I can confidently say is that the first half of this is a recap, and the second half is actual new material. I won't be spoiling anything that happens, though I will assume you actually watched the series obviously. What we needed at the end of the season was an episode to just tie a few things together. Instead, we got an episode that seemed to contradict a few things that had occurred, and just gave us more questions without addressing the loose ends that may have alreadyexisted. Thus, this brings us to the next point. Why was this made? More specifically, is this the end?
If this is the end, then this is a really bad ending. Sure, I suppose maybe this can be analyzed for some hidden meanings and someone can probably explain why this is great, and I won't argue against it if that's the case, but in terms of the actual story, all this did is make things more confusing. We now have an even less conclusive ending than we had at the end of the season.
If this isn't the end, and we end up with a second season, then this is arguably a decent way to bridge between the two seasons. Though I am fairly certain this is not the case. And if it was, I don't really see how a second season would be anywhere near as interesting as the first. We've explored so many themes already, and though there is clearly a path to be taken for the story, that does not mean it would be as entertaining. The mysteries that remain won't be as interesting as the ones that have already been explored. A second season should not have been needed based on what we got from the first, so if this ends up being the path they take, I still wouldn't agree with this choice for a special. (but again, I assume this isn't the case, just mentioning this on the small possibility that it is)
Ultimately, this is a disappointing ending. If you haven't watched this yet, just pretend it doesn't exist. Season 1 is all we have.
